Fram R'lyeh seems like a simple trick-taking game. Each player plays a power card and the card with the highest power value wins the treasure. There is a twist, however: Only the dealer can see the victory point value of the treasure and his power card will be openly displayed. The other players need to take a guess on what the value of the treasure is by looking at the power card the dealer has played to try and claim it.
But be warned! Your power cards are each associated with a negative score, so you need to be careful not to spend high value power cards on low victory point value treasures if you do not want to risk going insane.
When you win a round you will become the next dealer, not only gaining the knowledge of what prize you just gained, but also having the first peek at the next treasure.
All is not lost with a negative score, though. Once you have a negative score, you will become an insane cultist attracted to The Abyssuspolis and The Old One. Once all players have become cultists, THE OLD ONE AWAKENS and the most insane player is rewarded by The Old One for his services. In this case, the player with the highest negative score wins the game!
This one is intriguing and I haven't played any other game that's really like it. - Tom Vasel, Dice Tower
